Install your travel eSIM without losing track of your home line

Prepare on Wi-Fi, label your lines, select the right mobile-data profile and keep your activation kit private.

Prepare before you leave

Review the plan’s activation rule before installing. Use a reliable internet connection and keep the order details accessible. Read the device-specific instructions supplied with your installation kit. Menu names vary between software versions and manufacturers.

Your QR code and activation code can install a mobile profile. Treat them like private account credentials, not something to post in a support forum or screenshot publicly.

Install through your device settings

On a supported device, use its Add eSIM flow. Follow the supplied QR or manual setup instructions. If the kit offers a direct installation link, verify that it belongs to your order and opens the expected device setup.

Label the new line clearly, such as “Travel data.” Keeping the home and travel lines distinguishable makes it easier to select the correct one later.

At your destination, select the data line

Choose the travel eSIM for mobile data and follow the provider’s instructions for roaming on that line. Prevent automatic data switching if it could move traffic back to a home plan with roaming charges. Keep ordinary calls and SMS settings separate.

Using both lines can preserve access to your home number, but charges on that line remain governed by your home carrier. Turning on an eSIM does not change that contract.

Troubleshoot before deleting

Check that you are in a supported location, the correct line is selected, the plan remains valid and the required settings are enabled. Follow the supplied APN instructions if applicable. Usage updates can lag behind actual consumption.

Do not remove the profile as a first troubleshooting step. Reinstallation may be restricted. Contact support with the order reference, device model and a description of the issue; avoid sending activation credentials unless requested through a trusted support channel.

In NeoPay, open My eSIMs for installation details and status. Top-ups, when available, must be compatible with the existing profile; a new purchase and a top-up are different operations.
